I have my two sons in Judy’s Korean class. She uses a variety of sensory materials and activities to keep them interested. My sons have started to look forward to their lessons with her. They want to see her every day and I am very grateful to her for making learning Korean fun.

My daughter started to learn the piano at the age of 7 but stopped due to lack of interest. When I heard her say that she wanted to try again, I had her start seeing Ms. Judy a few months ago. I am happy to hear my daughter progressing, from simple notes to melodies and now to chords. It is said that ‘knowing music’ is to reveal the great possibilities that exist in the human heart. My child is learning another way to speak—to express different kinds of feelings through ‘notes’, so I am grateful to Ms. Judy for giving my daughter this opportunity.

My son studied English and piano with Ms. Judy for a year. The main thing I noticed is that she is very sincere and passionate about teaching. Dohyun’s writing skills improved tremendously because Ms. Judy always prepared the lessons systematically. She is a really good teacher who shows gentleness and strength, instilling a lot of confidence in her students and pushing them to do their very best. I am very grateful to her for that.

When I first met Judy, I couldn’t speak a word of English, since I had a fear of the language that I had grown up hating. I was worried about whether my grammar and pronunciation were correct before the English words came out of my mouth. However, Judy guided me to speak word by word and sentence by sentence and gave me support and encouragement so that I could continue to study English without giving up. She is fluent in English and Korean, so it was easy to understand and communicate with her. I also appreciated the fact that she was able to involve my children in special classes such as presentation classes and English debate classes. I came to Vancouver to study abroad with my child, so it was difficult to find a school that could meet my level and schedule, but I am glad that I had the opportunity to study with Judy.

I enjoyed the debate class as it was a great opportunity for me to talk about ideas and share them with others. The debate class enabled me not only to think outside the box but also to expand my knowledge on a vast number of topics. In addition, the debate class helped me to improve my grammar skills since writing is involved. My teacher helped me to broaden my knowledge and articulate my viewpoints in a clearer way.

I met Judy when I first came to Canada as an international student in 2015. Due to my lack of English skills, I had low confidence in my studies, and studying in a completely new environment without my parents nearby made me begin to lose hope and I felt fearful. As time went by, I felt my fear was lessened with the great support of Judy’s engaging teaching and her genuine guidance. Within a year, I was able to pass the ELL class and then enrolled in a regular English class. Judy knew exactly what I had to focus on to improve. After completing grammar, we focused on essay writing and writing techniques, which greatly helped me to achieve a high score in my English class. Reading English novels has always been my challenge, but she made me feel at ease as her points were always crystal clear, and I didn’t have to second guess. She was not only a

Genuine concern for the students and patience are two of the most important attributes of a good teacher, and teachers at Betterminds Education certainly possess both of them! Formality as it may seem, every word that they speak out and every regard that they offer. I can feel it comes right from the bottom of the heart. On the other hand, teachers never lose heart on you when you do not do well. They would patiently wait and let me try working on finishing a sentence or a phrase, and now I feel that my speaking ability has improved immensely! Ms. Judy is an encourager. Anybody who has a genuine desire to learn English or Korean, Ms. Judy is definitely the one to go to, for she is also genuine!
Mr. Lee Jonggu is an extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind teacher. Mr. Lee has an extensive knowledge of the grammatical and pronunciation rules of the Korean language, and can relate all his teachings in the context of Korean culture, whether it be contemporary or traditional. He is also a very patient instructor.

Even though I had studied English at a language school for six months before I came to Vancouver, I still felt that my English skill was somewhat lacking and not what I had wanted it to be, until I met Judy. Thank you Judy for the tutoring sessions, which have helped me learn a variety of useful expressions that I could actually use in daily life. Each tutoring session covered important study tips of how to learn English more effectively. Aside from learning English, I could share my personal problems and worries with Judy, as she made me feel very much at ease during each tutoring session. Judy is a great teacher, a great counselor, and a great friend.

I got a highly customized learning plan for my exact needs and skills for the CELPIP examination. Judy helped me get the practice that I needed. She also taught me useful tips and techniques. The parts I most appreciated were that English was used all throughout the lessons and that points were explained clearly. Whenever I made mistakes in my work, she wrote down the corrections so that I can practice in my free time. By doing so, I was able to learn grammar at ease. For those who want to study English in a fun and engaging way, I highly recommend Judy.

I have always thought that English was a difficult language to learn. Because of my low self-confidence, I have always been nervous speaking with native English speakers. But the personalized lessons that I had with Judy have greatly helped me boost my self-confidence and improve my English. Above all, she taught me phrases and expressions that I never learned in Korea. Those phrases and expressions are what native speakers use in daily life. I felt a sense

Reliability helps teachers build trust with students and I believe that I have made a good rapport with Judy because she is a great and reliable teacher. I truly appreciate your well-structured teaching and encouragement. I am grateful for your attentiveness and thoughtful presence. I had an enjoyable time studying with you. Thank you for teaching me.
Ms. Judy made every English area much easier than I could ever imagine. At first, I was fearful and discouraged about my low scores in grammar and spelling tests. But I have become a confident learner who believes English is super fun to learn. My teacher made every point clearly that I used to struggle. Now I can teach my friends too. Taking a group lesson was beneficial for me because we could help each other and study together. I especially enjoyed the debate class where I get to share my own ideas and learn phrases for expressing agreement that I could even use at school. Judy, you are the best teacher.

I find her to be a bona fide, reliable, conscientious and courteous. She is a truly excellent teacher. She is a native Korean and eloquent in English. She is skilled, thoughtful, sensible and a pleasure to be on her Korean mentor. She brings to every lesson, her easy going, friendly personality, creates a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. She knows just how and when to encourage and when to push, though never too much. Thank you
